I am an innate nurturer and have dynamic experience with children of all ages. I pride myself on my ability to integrate into families, and to be perceptive to needs of all before they arise. Having recently completed a postpartum doula training with DONA International, I am particularly interested in the care and support of parents, newborns, and siblings during the “4th trimester”. I am happy and able to help with general household management, upkeep, meal prep, etc. Children have always been an integral part of my life, starting at age nine (20 years ago!!) I was a mother’s helper, preschool assistant, and babysitter/nanny all throughout high school/college for several families (2-4 children, newborn-8y/o). After graduating, I was a summer camp counselor in Estes Park, Colorado, then moved abroad for the school year to be an au pair for a family of five in Spain. I returned home for a Read more year to gain some teaching experience in the American school system, where I worked as a special education instructional aide in Westwood Public Schools. My love for Spain and travel bug couldn’t be squashed, and I moved back to Spain to teach English full-time for preschool through high school-aged children. I did that for a couple years leading up to the pandemic, and eventually felt the pull to be closer to family/recalibrate purpose. Following one of my passions in bilingual education, my first job post-pandemic was at a bilingual preschool outside of Boston. I was sought out for a Middle School Spanish long-term sub position, and did that for the remainder of the school year. I loved using my Spanish, and mentoring teens during some really tough times was incredibly gratifying, but I still felt the pull of the outdoor lifestyle in Colorado. During the interim of figuring out the move, I started as a part-time nanny for an amazing family of 5 in Boston, which then transitioned to a dual postpartum doula/nanny role as they welcomed their third child. It was such a gift to be alongside them as their family grew, and to live out one of my passions as a pp doula. Fast-forward a year later, we just said our goodbyes as I left to start my life in Colorado. I have a wide variety of passions and skills both in and outside of the classroom, but one of the constants has always been kiddos. I love learning from them (and their grown ups), and being reminded of the humanness we all possess :)
