I started babysitting at age 14 for our neighbor's kids. Children take to me very quickly. Later on in life I became a pediatric home care nurse. I cared for children who were chronically ill and I learned not only how to take care of them, but ways to improve their day, to make them smile and never to just plop them in front of the tv. I did homework, crafts, played games, gave them their baths and kept them happy. I drove them to pt, ot and speech therapy. I prepared meals and healthy snacks and read them stories before bedtime. I feel I fit in well to the family situation. I have an LPN license, experience in CPR and choking and at age 61, the maturity to handle every situation.
