Hi! I have been working with children professionally for 16 years, both as a nanny and a teacher. I began nannying at 18 and have worked with families with children primarily under the age of 12, including newborn infant care. I am currently finishing my Master's degree in Art Education, have a BA in Art Education, an AA degree in Elementary Education, and hold a current TX Teacher Certification in Art EC-12. I am also certified in infant/child first aid and CPR (completed October 2024). After many years teaching at a local public elementary school, I stepped away from teaching to go back to school to pursue an international master's degree. I am moving back to Austin to finish writing my thesis and am hoping to find a family to assist in the meantime. A bit about me - My style of nannying is very playful, nurturing, patient, and kind. Read more I enjoy incorporating the arts, literacy, and foreign languages into my work with children. I am not yet fully fluent in Spanish, but I did teach art at a bilingual school and have experience teaching art in Spanish. I have found success in working together with parents so that I can be an extension of them and that routines and expectations remain consistent. I am more than willing to help prepare children's meals, do light housework, and help with homework. Additionally, I really enjoy taking kids on outings, whether that's to the local park, Thinkery, grocery store, or art museums. Regardless of the age, getting out and about in the world is something I like to incorporate, if the parents are comfortable with it.
