I have a passion for caretaking. Especially children, there is something so special about watching them light up and learn new things and have new experiences, and to be involved in that is really such an impactful thing for not only them but myself also. I was a stay at home mom for 4 years. More recently have I just needed to return to work. Which my full time employer is working as a Direct Support Professional at a group home. I have such compassion and understanding of others and meeting their needs. Connection is the greatest gift and generally the most desired and valued human trait. Because of the group home I have extra experience with disabilities(physically and cognitively) along with other cognitive impairments. Additionally, I did babysit for 2 separate families who had children on the autism spectrum. I have my CBRF certification that I received in 2014, Read more which is fire safety, CPR, choking, and first aid. The first family I used to watch the children for I did for about 5 years throughout my teenage years, and the second family I cared for the children overnight once a week for about a year, I do still occasionally care for these children but due to scheduling conflicts because of my work schedule it hasn’t been steady weekly like it was. I have cared for numerous children at once, there was one time I was caring for 6 children that were ages 8 and younger. Thanks for reading.
