Emily is amazing! We were so lucky to find her and absolutely would work with her again. She has been working with our family for over six months now primarily taking care of our 3yo toddler but also flexing into helping with the baby, and household chores as needed. Over the course of working together our arrangement has changed from me at home on mat leave with the baby to my partner on parental leave to both of us being back at work and Emily has always been great at adapting to our changing needs. As a childcare provider Emily is super patient and fun. Our kid bonded with her pretty fast - extra impressive b/c she previously only spoke mandarin and did not at all like her previous nanny. Within days she was comfortable enough to be bringing books to Emily asking to be read to and within weeks she was speaking full on sentences in english. They get along so well now and often my kid will tell me she misses Emily or is excited that she'll get to play with her soon. Emily often plans fun activities to do together like going to the library, or baking cookies. We've also gone from a pretty compliant 2.5 year old with a regular nap to some serious big kid tantrums and no naps. Emily is always sooo patient, honestly I think she managers better with the meltdowns than we do as parents. I see our kid echoing back techniques Emily teaches her like breathing through her hard feelings. In addition to childcare Emily has been able to help out with chores (like baby food prep, light cleanup) whenever there's any downtime. She fit into our household seamlessly and is really proactive about seeing what needs to be done and just picking up on how we like things done like where to put toys, dishes etc. We're parting ways because our family is moving but we'll miss Emily so much and really wish we could bring her with us.
