I am currently a full time student attending UMKC, majoring in broadcasting journalism. I will only be taking 2 classes over the summer, so my schedule is pretty flexible! During my junior year of high school, I worked for a great company called Helper's Inc, and had the opportunity to work with a six year old foster child with fetal alcohol syndrome. I worked with him until my sophomore year of college, because at the time I was studying at K-State, and I needed to stay there during the summers to continue classes. I also have two nephews, ages 1& 3, whom I have babysat and spent a lot of time with since they were born. Before I had found my passion in Journalism, I had always wanted to be a secondary teacher or a nanny because of how much I enjoy helping and engaging with kids!

I interviewed Rachel several days ago. I had Rachel scheduled for her first babysitting job with us today from 10-2. She said she had a dentist appointment at 8:30 but could be here by 10. I told her if she was a few minutes late from the dentist, no problem. Well by 10:15 I texted asking if she was on her way from the dentist. She said she was 25 minutes away and would be here at 10:45. At 10:30 she texted to say she had a volunteer opportunity come up with some organization and that she wouldn't be able to babysit for us at all. Wow! Clearly she is unreliable and I wouldn't recommend that you hire her.

Rachel was very responsive via email, but she no-showed the meeting/interview with us. She kept texting that she was just a few minutes away; we waited for her for more than an hour. And then she just stopped responding altogether.
