Hi! My name is Mayah. I've been in childcare for about 3 years and living in Tennessee for about 11 years. I believe in empathy, understanding and respect. My approach recognizes that children's behaviors stem from emotional needs and resolving these behaviors by helping children find ways to meet their needs within set boundaries of appropriate behavior. My philosophy involves managing behavior through the development and teaching of effective behavioral strategies that support children's self-control and emotional well-being. Some examples of this include offering a child choices to help them feel confident, making sure they understand the consequences of an action, and modeling positive behavior. I am CPR and First Aid certified, and I have over 3 years of experience in childcare, with a large part of that in a SPED classroom. I also have experience with babysitting, nannying, and pet sitting.
