Monae took care of my two year old and newborn while I was in and out of the house, so I got a good look at her interactions with both my little ones. She was enthusiastic, professional and knowledgable. She read my two year old books and engaged him with play. She soothed my 3 month old and helped settle her. I would definitely hire her again!

I’m a single mom with three kids who all have special needs. Working with our family is a very challenging job! Monae has embraced my children with determination, dedication and love! She is studying ABA and topics related to helping children with Mental Health disorders and uses what she learns to support my kids and is always striving to expand her knowledge on the best ways to effectively manage them. She is one of the most responsible and reliable sitters we’ve ever worked with and is exceptionally careful about proper medication administration. She has spent countless hours doing independent research about the challenges my kids face (all three have ADHD, one also has Anxiety, and one also has Severe Mood Dysregulation Disorders - ODD & IED), and she also independently spends time researching free and low-cost activities she can take the kids out to do. She loves to engage the kids in hands-on non-screen activities like painting, board games, and time at the playground. If you are looking for someone who can reliably bring a foundation of consistency and stability to your home and apply their insight on a variety of ways children need support, including kids who are not neurotypical, you have found the right sitter!

My husband and I hired Monae last minute for a wedding in the city. We’re from out of town and were having trouble finding someone but Monae responded immediately, communicated clearly, showed up early, and sent text updates throughout the night. She was warm and engaging with our nine month old and I would hire her again were we to need someone. Our friends whose apartment we were staying at also felt comfortable having her in their home.

Monae was a total professional every step of the way. She arrived early and treated our LO with caring kindness and playful energy. I especially appreciated the text updates she sent, and that she was flexible to stay later at night. I would definitely call on her again in the future.

We were looking for a dependable and professional sitter for two nights on our NYC Halloween vacation, someone with experience caring for differently abled young children. We received nearly 200 applications for this position but Monae was an immediate standout as one of the first to respond and her qualifications really stood out as superior to most others with respect to what we were looking for. We put our confidence and trust in Monae and she surpassed our expectations. She was open, warm, punctual, creative and flexible and this gave us peace of mind to leave our daughter with her without hesitation. My husband and I came to NYC from Denver and had Monae babysit our 2.5 month old son for a couple evenings. She was great and followed all our requests. It was clear she knew how to work with babies. Will definitely book her again when visiting (if she’s available!)

Monae was great with our 16 month old son. She took the job on very short notice the day of and was here right away. She followed our instructions very well and brought a positive energy which my son enjoyed. He took to her immediately. She also sent pictures throughout the day and my son was in a great mood when I got home. Highly recommend!

i needed someone for only an hour on very specific days and as parenting goes, i needed someone quickly. monae was responsive to all forms of communications. she was available for a phone interview and promptly provided references. i found her to be very courteous and responsive to the needs of our family and would not hesitate to have her come sit for us again.

Monae watched our two kids (3 & 6) so that we could have an adult evening out while visiting the city. I was feeling a bit nervous because the first time we met was when she showed up at our hotel room door, but she immediately put my fears to rest. She was very professional, offering her ID and CPR & first aid certifications for proof at the door and then continued to update us on the kids via text throughout the night, which further put us at ease. She is intelligent and well spoken and asked detailed questions about the children's routines & personalities. Her light hearted and soothing demeanor immediately but my kids at ease such that I was shocked when neither or them noticed us leaving (my little one usually cries at parting). I also like that she brought toys, this was really helpful given the hotel setting. I definitely plan to contact her again when in the city.

We hired Monae for a full-time gig to take care of my 6 month old son for a few weeks this summer. She was incredibly engaged with him - reading to him, doing LOTS of tummy time, playing on the floor, and teaching him to sit unassisted. She was able to follow a strict feeding/napping schedule that I had set for my son. She also fed him purees and was great with texting us pictures and updates throughout the day on how he was doing. She is extremely hard-working, and it is clear she really loves what she does. We look forward to having her back for date nights and backup childcare.

We hired Monae rather last-minute, so the job demanded that she be extra-responsive on short notice. "Can you come by in twenty minutes so we can meet you?" "Can you take on a number of peripheral responsibilities with little introduction?" Monae put us at ease. She is detail-oriented and sent multiple updates during the evening (per our request, as this was a new assignment.) She asked great questions about diet, restrictions, rules of the house, and what kind of activities we'd like our daughter to engage in while we were away. (Which is code for, Is TV allowed? Too many sitters just assume that TV is the first and only activity.) And of course most importantly, she is kind and enjoys being with kids. We'll be calling again for sure.

Monae babysat for my two very energetic boys, ages 7 and 5, and she was very enthusiastic and attentive. The boys really liked her!

Monae watching our 20-month old daughter and she was excellent with her. She jumped right in to playing with her, kept her active and engaged and sent us text messages updating us on how it was going. She put our daughter down for the night with zero issues. It was also great to come home to all the toys picked up. Would definitely have her watch our daughter again.

Monae was very responsive and prompt in communicating with us and, most importantly, we could tell she was also very caring toward our 4 month old son. She sent us pictures while we were out and kept track of his feeding, diaper changes and naps. She read several books with him and washed the bottles after feeding him. Overall we were very happy to have her!
