"You're never too old, too wacky, too wild, to pick up a book and read to a child." ~Dr. Seuss Over the past 12+ years I have worked with children of different ages on varying capacities, from tutoring to yoga to an occasional babysitting night. My heart continues to grow with each experience (...even the challenging ones). I am comfortable with kids of all ages – from newborns to teens. I have cared for single children as well as multi-aged groups. Regardless of the size of the family or group I am always ready and eager to be a part of a child's growing and learning process as they explore their world. Activities with kids include but are not limited to: art, sports, adventures (parks, zoos, libraries, neighborhood walks, etc.), cooking, tutoring, playing games, reading, gardening, yoga, and delving into any activity that allows a child's imagination and creativity to Read more shine. What I do outside babysitting: Currently when I am not working with children I am co-creating with yoga teachers, assisting them in management, communication and strategy. For the majority of 2013-2014 I was traveling in various parts of the world finding connection and inspiration though people, nature, culture, and art. During this time I lived in various communities and participated in volunteer work (of course some related to children). I have a high passion for wellness and enjoy natural healing, cooking, teas, yoga, walking (with my dog mostly), running, biking, and just about any activity that involves being in the sunshine! My relation with pets: I love animals just as much as children. I grew up with many pets as a child and I have been a dog owner myself over the last ten years. Volunteer work: Volunteer work has been an important part of my life from a young age (thanks to my amazing mother). Depending on the season, day, and my changing interests I donate time doing everything from serving food at a shelter, to doing taxes for low income families, to creating events to raise money for girls education in Africa (and everything in between). Languages: I can speak, write, and understand French on a decent level. I can understand Spanish at an intermediate level and speak it at a very basic level. Have more question? Feel free to send them my way and I will happily get back to you as soon as possible.
