Hello! My name is Mariah. I am patient, energetic, and absolutely love working with children of all ages. I also genuinely enjoy playing with kids. I have a lot of experience, growing up in a large family, babysitting anywhere from 1 to 12 kids at a time. Where I really found I love this work, was my time as a toddler teacher in a Montessori school. My responsibilities included supervision of 10-25 toddlers (Ages 1-3), potty training, reading stories, singing and games, nap time, implementing Montessori principals, leading crafts, supervising water play, and so much more. I developed personal relationships with each of my students, and communicated with parents daily to benefit the child with every step of their learning process. One of my favorite parts was bringing my love of music to the classroom. I am a strong believer in the saying "Everything you do for me, you take away from me". I would let your children help me with everything they can, from preparing food, to cleaning up, bathroom routines, getting dressed, and anything they show interest in, while maintaining their safety first. I encourage learning and engagement with every step of the day. Currently, I work at a nursing home, in activities with residents who have dementia and memory loss. I really enjoy leading activities and spending time with my residents, and will continue to be there for part of the week as I transition back into childcare.
