Brooke W.

Brooke Walgreen is my oldest friend. I have known her since we were 2 years old. Throughout the decades of our friendship, Brooke has always been a consistent force of compassion, support, and caretaking. She was the oldest in our friend group, so she naturally took a leadership role amount us socially. As I pursued a career in social services, first as a caseworker in foster care and homeless services, then as a public defender in the Bronx, Brooke has always been there to support me with my goals and my challenges. She continues to lead me by example and through her mentorship. Beyond our socializing, I’ve consistently seen Brooke care for, mentor, and teach young people in her life. Because of this part of her personality, I know Brooke’s family. I have watched as she babysat her younger cousins and then as they grew older, I watched as they idolized their babysitter -cousin-mentor. Brooke still have an incredible relationship with these cousins based on her heavy hand in raising them. Beyond her family, Brooke has sought consistent opportunities to spend time with children, babies, and young people. While she was in grad school, she worked full time as a nanny, and raised two boys from brith to 4 years old. She seamlessly balanced her full course load with her dedication to this family. She also has extensive experiences working with very young children with special needs and mentoring her friend’s children when they make significant mistakes growing up. Children are more than a passion to her. She loves what she does and it’s incredible to watch her with children! Her passion is visceral. Brooke is an incredible caretaker and any family would be incredibly lucky to have her on their lives. Molly Harwood

It is my pleasure to wholeheartedly recommend Brooke Walgreen for a job as a Nanny. In the 5 years that I have known Brooke, I have seen how incredibly kind, compassionate, reliable and a complete joy to be around she is. Brooke exudes a true warmth that draws people to her. Brooke has helped with my children on many occasions whether it be to watch mine and many other families at the pool, help with tutoring, feed them when I work late or must go out of town. Brooke has been a life saver to me as I am a single mom. Brooke is wonderful with children and with pets. She has a true gift. When I first met Brooke, I was not surprised to learn that growing up she helped raise her cousins and the18 grandkids in her family. You can tell by the way she remains calm and interacts with children that she has a true calling for caretaking. In Brooke’s spare time you can find her playing games in the pool with the neighborhood kids, chasing her dog around the farm and golf course, feeding the birds, fishing, swimming, and cooking her treasured family recipes to share them with the community. One thing about Brooke is that she’s always serving the community. Whether it be food, companionship for elders, yard games with kids or a shoulder to lean on, Brooke is a strong woman with a heart of gold. I trust her with my kiddos and any family would be lucky to have her.
