My name is Reyn and I'm a passionate 29-year-old educator with 10 years of informal teaching experience in STEM and ESL. I have always been passionate about learning through play and making the world smaller through language. I am fluent in English, intermediate in Tagalog and conversational in Japanese (including reading and writing). I worked abroad in both the Philippines and Japan and now currently work for a museum! When I'm not teaching, I love to play computer games, go to the arcade, solve escape rooms, cook and spend time with my family (preferably with food!). I love spending time with my nieces and being around kiddos in general. I am energetic, outgoing and silly! I love sports, physical activities, the outdoors (to an extent LOL) and learning new things. I believe that although learning can be fun, I believe it's important to do just that—be a child and have fun. I am your Type A planner friend that loves schedules, spreadsheets and having a plan, but I also love being spontaneous and loose (safely!). I care about rules, positivity and kindness. I absolutely adore great communication, feedback and empathy. I'm hoping for the opportunity to help your family in any way that I can not only by watching your kiddos, but by fostering a type of learning that I believe is unique to my teaching style and me as a person.
