Hello! My name is Colleen. I am a graduate student at Salve Regina University pursuing my Master's of Science in Innovation & Strategic Management. As an undergraduate, I majored in psychology and minored in Spanish. Currently, I am seeking full-time employment working with children. I have experience with children of all levels of need, ranging in age from infancy through adolescence. Throughout the years, I have built many wonderful relationships with youths and their families. In addition to numerous nannying and babysitting positions, I have also previously worked as a foster family services consultant for Boys Town New England. While employed at Boys Town, I was trained to work with children who have experienced trauma and neglect prior to being removed from the family home. Many of these youths struggled with mental health and behavioral issues as well as other diagnosed and undiagnosed special needs. By utilizing the Boys Town Read more model of care, I was able to provide appropriate foster parent education and resolve problems alongside this special population of youths and their caregivers. The knowledge I gained during this time continues to prove invaluable to me as I continue to work with children. My goals as a childcare provider include creating a nurturing environment that ensures your child's safety and well being at all times, providing various enrichment activities, and maintaining a well-organized schedule that fosters healthy child development. I particularly enjoy arts & crafts, reading, imaginative play, spending time outdoors, and baking. These are all activities I try to incorporate into my work with children as often as possible.
