Hi! My name is Olivia, I’m a senior at the University of California, Santa Cruz where I study Global and Community Health. I have been working as caregiver and educator for about ten years now, first starting off working as a babysitter and nanny. I worked for dozens of families in the Washington, D.C. area, before moving to Myanmar for a short time where I worked at a Deaf school as an English teacher. Additionally, I traveled to Jamaica where I taught at a pre-school, and volunteered at an orphanage. Throughout high school, I continued my work as a babysitter, began weekly tutoring jobs in Math, Science, English, and Spanish, worked as a camp counselor at Home Run Baseball camp, and traveled to the Dominican Republic where I helped coach baseball. A year before COVID hit, I worked at an elementary school as an after-care counselor for Kindergarteners, and when Read more schools shut down, I took a gap year and worked with a “pod” where I helped students with their online learning. Upon moving to California for college, I continued my work as a nanny for kids ranging from infants to about 10 years of age. For the past two and a half years, I have worked as an aide for folks with disabilities, and assisted folks experiencing dementia and Alzheimers. Beginning in the summer of 2023, I began my own aftercare program in Washington, D.C., which now supports over 10 kids daily. My skills include fluency in Spanish and partial fluency in American Sign Language, organizational skills, technology and computer skills (including website design), medication administration, conflict management, cooking, and art (including music). I have experience helping with house chores, experience driving clients, experience with ADL’s, and experience assisting with school work. Let me know if you need any help!
