I have been caring for children for fifteen years, and, as the oldest of five, responsibility and caregiving came with the territory. In catering to varying personalities and age groups, I have learned to adapt to any given situation and excel in providing for the needs of multiple children simultaneously. I believe it promotes healthy social developmental skills, as well as a comfortable environment for the kids to bond with someone new, knowing that they are not going into that alone. Additionally, I am a wiz with healthy meals and fun snacks for the kids to enjoy, and even help to make. A fan favorite are homemade, gluten-free Rice Krispie Treats. I am able to work around any allergy and/or preference. As the main "chef" (and I use that term loosely) among most of my roommates, I have learned to work around every obstacle thrown my way. My friend is Read more not only allergic to most of the produce under the sun, but she also has a very particular palate. Yet and still, I have managed to avoid the traditional "College Kitchen Guide 101" recipes of never-ending Ramen Noodles or cereal, and have instead honed in my craft for creative, healthy, frugal, and versatile cooking. For school-aged kids, I am great with English, Math, and History, so tutoring is a given. If not yet in school, I also enjoy reading to toddlers and infants, as well as running through flashcards with them. I absolutely adore children and am a perfect mix of goofy and stern, giving kids the opportunity to have fun and feel comfortable to be themselves, while also knowing and respecting the boundaries put in place. In regards to other specialties, I am great with pets, I love to organize, and I am a pretty thrifty grocery shopper. Moreover, I have been trained in CPR for a Professional Rescuer during my time as a Recreational Center supervisor. While I do need to renew my certification (a task that has been hindered by COVID-safe protocols), I have had my certification since I was 18 years old, and am looking forward to retaking the course and exam as soon as possible.
