Hi families! As a former au pair I have accumulated quite some experience with kids! My first year in the US I spent with 2 kids (1 year and 5 yrs) and my second one also with 2 kids (8 yrs and 11yrs). Before my time as an au pair, I worked as a flight attendant and when I wasn’t doing that, I worked for an association for children with special needs - more specifically CHARGE syndrome, a rare genetic disorder. These children are often diagnosed with autism and are struggling with impaired hearing and vision. Because this syndrome is so rare, the association I was working for tried to bring affected people and their families from all over the world together once a year for a big conference with doctors and scientists. While I helped with preparations for those conferences (organize accommodations, book flights, set up a schedule) I Read more provided childcare during the event so the parents could speak to professionals and watch presentations. For fun, I love to do art and crafts with the kids. We play games outside on nice days and inside on rainy days, read books together or paint. I love to be silly with the kids and I promise all of my previous kiddos think I am hilarious. I’m a good swimmer and a safe driver. As a flight attendant I took a CPR and first aid course every year (for 7 years). I grew up around dogs and love them - so absolutely pet friendly.
