I believe that children are a source of inspiration, intelligence and pure enthusiasm. Each one deserves respect, support, nurturing and patience. Children encourage us to cherish the special moments in life and to enjoy the simple pleasures life offers. Those are the reasons I chose to work with children. I am a 56 year old mother of three(2 girls in college and a 16 year old son) I am very energetic/athletic and have an extensive background(10+ years) in preschool teaching/daycare. My home-based and center-based work with families was the foundation for a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in California. I focused on supporting families in recovery with young children ages birth to five. For 6 years, I was employed by CRASH Options, Inc. and Home Start Inc. where I taught parent education and supervised the childcare facility. More recently, I have done private care for several families in Read more San Diego. I believe that children grow socially, cognitively and physically through play that emphasizes age-appropriate concepts of learning. As a caregiver, I provide a safe and supportive environment that fosters autonomy, self-confidence and self-control. By using positive redirection, I help the child make good choices. Through my work with Childcare Careers Inc.(preschool subbing), I have a current background check, up-to-date vaccinations(Covid, TB and flu) and a First Aid/CPR certification. I would enjoy sharing my complete resume with a family who believes I am a good fit for their household.
