I have been working in chilcare for 30yrs. My first job was at 16 working at Children's World in Redmond Wa where I grew up. I have experience working with all ages but infants, toddlers, and preschool are the ages i have worked with the most. I also have alot of training including stars training and cpr and blood born pathogens. I am currently a lead teacher for a toddler classroom. My responsibilities in my classroom are planning weekly lesson plans that are age appropriate for the children. Parent teacher conferences and keeping portfolio's on the children. Also monthly parent news letters to let parents know about coming up events, and also the theme for the month on what we will be learning about. We do arts and crafts, lots of sensory activities like playdough and also sensory tables filled with fun stuff to play in. For example water, sand, Read more dirt, leaves, ect...stuff kids enjoy playing with hands on. We do circle time where we sing and talk about what minth it is and sing our days of the week song. We also count on the calendar, sing songs, read stories, and play games. We have lots of manipulatives and learn about sorting, counting, and very basic math. Children learn through play so i do my best to keep them busy and give them age appropriate curriculum that is fun but they are learning at the same time. I also am responsible for keeping my classroom cleaned and sanitied and safe for the children. I am very patient, compassionate, loving, and very good at multitasking, you have to be with a room with 10 toddlers. I also can be firm when I need to be or the childten would walk all over me, I am also reliable and have my own car. I am employed at the moment but trying to find something else as soon as possible..if your wondering why I want to find a new job if im ready employed? The reason is I have worked there 8 yrs and had one raise, and I had to ask my boss for the raise she did not come to me. I feel that she dors not value her employees and also has nothing else to offer. No paid vacation. No medical, we have paid sick time but that it is nothing else to offer. So I am the only one working since my boyfriend is gping to school fulltime and its rough. Time to move on and need a better paying job. Any questions please ask.
