My mom babysat for families when I was a little girl. She would bring me with her and I remember how wonderful it was as an only child always having children to play with. I watched her and learned from her all those years about caring for children. I eventually was hired by the families she worked for once I was 12 years old. The families passed my number around the neighborhood I worked in, and that became my job throughout high school and college. I didn’t just work for money. I truly loved working with children. I became a mother to three children and everything I learned from working with children I then got to do with my own. I have immense empathy for children which sadly I find is rare. I feel children are greatly frustrated because they don’t truly feel seen or understood. I love playing games, Read more doing art, exploring outdoors, reading books, etc. with them and finding what makes each child unique and thrive. It’s my goal and my view that my job with children is to guide them as I learn who they are. I am a mom of three also. So I know about potty training, bedtime routines, sibling strife and navigating that, school work, chores, or whatever else the parents are needing support in. I had a lot of wisdom from 21 years of babysitting, but almost 10 years as a mother has taken that to a whole new level for me.
