Hello! My name is Moira. I am seeking a position where I can positively impact children's lives while fostering their growth and development. I love making a difference in children’s daily lives and helping them succeed, whether it’s through education, play, or emotional support. It's not just about providing care, but about becoming an integral part of their journey and being a positive role model. With years of experience working with children in diverse cultural settings, I’ve honed my ability to adapt, connect, and teach in ways that resonate with each individual child. I worked as an English Language Teacher and Camp Counselor for YMCA Spain from 2014 to 2018, where I planned and implemented educational programs, taught conversational English, and created a positive learning environment for campers. During this time, I gained strong communication skills and learned how to engage children in fun, educational activities. Additionally, I’ve worked as Read more a CCD teacher for Saint John Neumann Catholic Church, where I prepared students for their Sacraments, planned lessons, and created an engaging environment for their religious education. I also have hands-on experience caring for children with special needs, having volunteered at orphanages in Haiti, where I worked with babies and special needs children. This experience deeply shaped my understanding of the varied needs and strengths children have, and it reinforced my passion for working with children from all walks of life. In addition to my hands-on experience, I have valuable training in education, language skills, and child development. I am an alumna of the University of Pittsburgh, where I developed a strong foundation in communication and learning techniques. Being fluent in Spanish, thanks to my completion of the Manheim Township Spanish Immersion Program, allows me to engage with children from diverse linguistic backgrounds, making me adaptable to multicultural environments. My experience teaching English as a second language and creating curricula has sharpened my skills in classroom management, lesson planning, and individualized learning. Working in different countries has also made me comfortable navigating diverse settings and engaging with children of all ages and backgrounds. Ultimately, my goal is to be a contributing member of a family, where I can provide meaningful support and help children succeed in all aspects of their lives.
