Elizabeth Gray’s Bio

I am a licensed veterinary technician (state of Virginia & Washington). Since 2006, I have volunteered at animal shelters, worked at dog daycares, & worked the gamut of all veterinary roles, from front-end reception, kennel attendant, veterinary assistant, up to licensed veterinary technician & shift leader, encompassing excellent patient care along with creating incentives and projects to improve the quality of medicine provided by the clinic.

I have worked in all sorts of veterinary clinics and animal-care settings, all with varying expectations and opportunities to learn — these have included general primary care, dog daycares, animal sheltering volunteering, ICU care and emergency triage and treatment, primary surgical-based clinics, federal research facilities, exotic pet specialists, veterinary clinical laboratories, and short stints in shelter animal medicine, as well.

I've been pet-sitting — both short-term & long-term — for both healthy animals, as well as for those requiring more intensive monitoring and at-home treatments, since around 2012. Most of my pet-sitting gigs have been for repeat "clients" whose owners feel more secure in knowing that a licensed veterinary professional is caring for their pet.

My hard work ethic and passion for top-notch, quality animal care have helped me to earn an exceptional reputation among clients and potential referrals. I would be happy to provide a list of references, and I encourage you to get in contact with me to discuss rates, expectations, and the services that I am willing to provide. This moment I am working as an independent contractor with a flexible schedule, assisting as a relief technician in veterinary clinics while also supplementing my income with loving, attentive, and medically-minded pet care. I’d love to get to know you and your pet!

Providing comfort and care to animals, particularly those in distress or discomfort — whether from pain, anxiety, or stress — is one of the most rewarding aspects of my career. Additionally, being qualified to educate pet parents about humane handling, as well as recommended veterinary care when warranted, makes me feel as if I am truly providing a service that lends itself to better, practical pet care among all people. I am very oriented towards the low-stress aspects of Fear Free and Cat Friendly (AAFP) principles and am certified as an Elite Fear Free Veterinary Professional.
