I have always loved working with children, and have had experience taking care of children professionally, and for family and friends. I worked as a babysitter for two boys between the ages of four and 10 when I was 13. I have taken care of baby cousins and friends children, but also work with children every day. I have worked for the past three years at Health Care and Rehabilitation Services as a counselor for children between the ages of five and 15 who all have a mental health diagnosis. This is one of my favorite jobs I have worked, because along with working with these children on their emotional regulation, and helping them through mental and emotional issues, a main goal of the job was just to help these children have fun. This job incorporated many activities such as canoeing, hiking, fishing, sports, arts and crafts, cooking, and many more into the learning curriculum. I have also worked as a youth counselor in a boys residential home.
I have always had dogs growing up, currently I have two big German Shepherd mixes, and love meeting new dogs!
