I have been working professionally as a counselor for a dog daycare for 3 years now, but I have been around animals my entire life. I've owned cats, a dog, a rabbit, chickens, and fish. I trained my dog using clicker training and positive reinforcement. I have cared for the pets of friends and family while they have been away. Nothing is more fulfilling to me than the bond shared between animals and humans, and caring for animals is something that I genuinely love to do. The dogs and other animals I have worked with have become very close to me. The dogs at my job trust me, and have learned from me. It is so rewarding to see positive change in a dog as a result of your own hard work and care for that pet. I am also a student at the University of Virginia, where I intend to major in Environmental Science and Classics. I am comfortable watching and walking both large and small dogs. I am skilled at handling dogs on leash, and my own dog is reactive so I have to be extra vigilant when taking her on walks. I am capable of giving medications and handling animals that require more attention.
