Srishti was very unreliable, no-showing or canceling last minute repeatedly, and she clearly wasn't willing or able to make childcare commitments a priority. She also essentially stole $40 from me that I had pre-paid her for an appointment by not returning it to me when she no-showed, even after I asked her to return it.

To share more details, she repeatedly canceled or no-showed. Actually, she canceled or no-showed *literally every single time she was supposed to take my daughter to an appointment.* These were scheduled medical appointments for my child, so her cancellations caused a lot of problems and inconvenience. I never got the sense that Srishti really understood or took this seriously; she always apologized but also seemed to act like we could just "find another date" or "reschedule it" for her convenience, without realizing what a serious problem this was (delaying care, facing penalties at clinics, etc.).

I know some cancellations are unavoidable, but I'm not sure that hers were. For example, one time when she canceled, she told me a convoluted story around needing to cancel so she could drive her family member somewhere unexpectedly, because the person who was supposed to drive him had to cancel "because of his baby." This story doesn't even make sense to me, and it made me feel like she saw childcare not as a real commitment, but as something she could cancel if anything else in her life came up.

She also didn't show good judgment around the cancellations. For example, she let me know 18 minutes before she was due to show up that she was sick and had been throwing up for 5 hours before. She said she kept trying to leave but couldn't stop throwing up. If she was that sick, I'm not sure why she wouldn't let us know at least a little bit before that. Another time, she went back and forth about being too sick to work: she told me on a Wednesday that she was sick but had started antibiotics so she'd be available for our care next Monday. This is a little complicated, but that Saturday, she messaged me to say she was "feeling a lot better" and said we were "still set for Monday." But somehow, Sunday night, she messaged me after 8 pm that she thought she'd still be contagious and wouldn't come. After asking her some questions, I realized this was based on a misunderstanding (you are no longer contagious 24 hours after you START the antibiotics, not after you finish them), which she confirmed with a doctor (and then she did come). My confusion, however, was why she ended up trying to cancel the night before when she was supposed to babysit the next morning, especially if she'd been taking the antibiotic since at least Wednesday the previous week. She had plenty of time to check into this sooner, and telling us the last minute when it was too late to make other plans was very frustrating.

When we finally gave up on her, it was because she no-showed for an appointment. This was an appointment we were already rescheduling because she canceled last minute the previous time. Because we've had challenges with reliability before, I messaged Srishti the night before to confirm, and she responded saying she'd be there. I had already pre-paid her for this appointment as well (the first time it was supposed to happen) since I wouldn't be seeing Srishti afterwards and wanted to make sure she got the money promptly. The next morning, Srishti just didn't show up, no explanation. This was a week ago, and I messaged her twice after. I also asked her to repay the money. Until now, we've heard nothing from her, no explanation and no money.

The only reason I gave Srishti 2 stars instead of 1 is that she was actually really good with my daughter when she was here (which wasn't often). I can tell that she's bright, and she was always really likable and pleasant to work with and speak with outside of those problems. She just unfortunately wasn't reliable at all, she lacked maturity and good judgment (in my opinion), and she came across as kind of (unintentionally) self-absorbed. I know she's in school, and maybe she's busy, but she doesn't seem to be in a place in her life that she can or should provide childcare.
