My name is Evelyn and I have been around animals my entire life. I am 38 years old, fully vaccinated, a non-smoker with my own reliable transportation.

While earning a Master’s in Developmental Psychology and after working at Children’s Hospital for 5+ years, I always found that volunteering with animals at different non-profits, specifically Humane Animal Rescue (HAR), provided a great therapeutic outlet for me.

After a few months of volunteering at HAR, I was asked to take a supervisory volunteer position as a lead dog-walker at HAR. I spent almost 8 hours/week over 3 days walking dogs, providing enrichment activities for in each dog’s kennel, routine cleaning, and maintaining attendance/scheduling for other volunteers.

As I have extensive experience with administering medications (oral, subQ, and IM) as well as caring for animals with epilepsy and diabetes, I found I was developing a niche petsitting service for those families who hadn’t been comfortable leaving their special needs pets. One family I petsit for had never left their dog overnight due to the pup’s diabetes, and I was so happy I could help!

I’ve found that keeping dogs in their home environment (instead of boarding or watching at my home) and following their normal day-to-day routine allows for the least stressful experience for the dog(s) when away from their pet parents. They are around all their familiar things, walking their normal routes, sleeping in their normal spots.

I have been around cats all of my life and found my interactions with them came much more naturally, though I took the trainings just as seriously. I have become a very active cat welfare active as I am well-versed in most cat-related issues and don’t mind having a conversation with anyone needing support/education.

Also, I am active in my community and surrounding areas and field calls regularly from pet owners with a myriad of issues, issues, everything from health issues to behavioral problems to providing resources for low-cost veterinary services. I receive a good number of donations and dispense these items to those in need.

My rates are dependent on the needs of each family and their pets - my goal is to put your mind at ease so that you are able to have peace of mind while away from your furry friend(s).
