Currently, I am studying Animal Science with the aim of becoming a Veterinarian. My love for animals started in high school where I worked with them. Additionally, I volunteered at a farm sanctuary for my 12th grade community service. Presently, I am employed as a Veterinary assistant at Barton Heights Veterinary Hospital. Furthermore, I am working towards obtaining certification as a Vet Assistant.
My Duties ( Veterinary Assistant )
- Feed patients as prescribed by the attending doctor or as the client has requested; record appetites; recognize and report any unusual conditions or abnormal behaviors.
- Fill prescriptions, calculate and administer medications, maintain proper documentation, logging, and security of controlled drugs.
- Assist doctors and technicians with the administration of medications or with patient restraint.
- Triage patients, perform physical exams, treatments, and administer medication
