My own pets have been treated as family for many years. I have just recently lost my dog Molly due to cancer. It was a very hard thing to watch. I now have a 12 year old dog and an 18 year old cat. I feel they have been given excellent care and their ages reflect that.
I cared for pets while owners are on vacations, along with retrieving mail and watering plants. I would be happy to taxi your pet to the vet or groomer, walk them, drop in and feed as your situation might require.
