Until recently, I was a regional manager for a healthcare company. Once I got notice that my position was being eliminated and I was getting laid off, I reexamined my priorities.
What I see now is that I've been given an opportunity to spend more quality time with my family, including the furry ones! I have five cats that all came in off the streets and three dogs ages 11, 12, and 16. Now I have a lot of extra time on my hands and would like to do something that I can enjoy with my son.
With our 16 year old needing specific care and our 12 year old having a history of seizures, we chose to forego any vacation planning this year so that we can care for them ourselves. This is to say that I understand the concern for your pets and how nerve racking it can be entrusting someone new to care for them.
I would welcome pets to stay at my home if that is your preference, but I would require either a recent negative test or proof of vaccination for FelV in cats, DHPP for dogs, Rabies for either, and males must be neutered.
