My name is Emily Cherney, and I am a twenty four year old seeking employment as a nanny, pet care, or part-time babysitter. I have been working at schools in Cleveland for the past three years, but have ten years of experience working with children from ages 1 to 17 in multiple roles.

As a child, I watched my friends animals for money in a company I started (Mind you, this was me in the fifth grade...). I started babysitting when I was 14 and over the years, I babysat children from the age of 14 months to 13 years old, both girls and boys. I have been responsible for as many as four children at a time, taking them swimming, on bike rides, or over their friend's houses when necessary. I also have experience as a camp counselor for the Ohio Leadership Institute. I volunteered for two years at Hilton Elementary School, as an after school aide for a first grade class. I graduated from The College of Wooster in 2014 where I was employed as a tutor for a K-6 school and worked as a tutor in the writing center. I also volunteered at the Ida Sue School for children with developmental delays and volunteered at the Humane Society twice a week.

Following college, I worked for two years at John Adams High School with City Year as a near-peer mentor and tutor for at-risk students. I also organized after-school activities and service projects and volunteered with younger children at the local recreation center. From April to October 2016, I was the Family Support Liaison at Global Ambassadors Language Academy, a charter school on the West side of Cleveland where I supported family concerns and students who had difficulty managing behaviors. Due to lack of funding, they unfortunately had to let go multiple employees and I was one of those employees.
