I am Melissa B. I'm a full-time stay at home dog mom with a black Labrador retriever, 'Ruger', He is a nationally titled Dock Dog and pretty much my whole world. Spot an insulin dependent cat who thinks he is a dog. And Varmynt, a domesticated Savannah tiger kitten.
Searching to find the most appropriate sitter is difficult. Nothing is more important than your children's safety, your pets' experiences, and respect with common sense in regards to your home. For me, being worthy of somebody's trust is important to me, it is just a big part of who I am. Another innate part of me is I am a nurturer. I have very strong ability to communicate well with animals and children, people constantly tell me. I have a lot of experience working with kids, I was lead teacher in toddler room, 4 & 5 year old room and newborn to 18 months for about 2 years each at ABC Daycare, Iowa City, Iowa.
Over 10 years experience with animals as a veterinary assistant and weekend /holiday person for boarding and hospitalized animals. Kalona Veterinary Hospital, in rural Iowa.
I graduated college in Illinois with induction to the Who's Who in Scholastic Honors recognition. studying pre hospital emergency medicine. I attended the Emergency Medical Services Learning Resource Center at the University of Iowa.
I have been volunteering for about 9 years with a non-profit charity, called 'Serving Our Kids'. Providing homeless and low income children in C.C.S.D. with their own food for the weekends.
My car is equipped with the Kurgo Zip-line safety system for dogs.
My availability is unlimited. Last minute and middle the night inquires and jobs are not an problem. I have been actively working through Sittercity.
