My only jobs ever have been working with animals and I couldn’t ask for anything more. I’ve been a major dog lover since I was a little girl, and I can definitely say that dogs are as drawn to me as I am to them. My first job was at a dog daycare in Jersey City when I was 16 years old, and I loved it. I worked as a “dog attendant” where I supervised dogs of all different shapes, sizes, and personalities.
My main tasks were:
- walking, feeding, and cleaning up after the dogs
- pick ups and drop offs at private residencies
- cleaning the facility at closing time (taking out the trash, cleaning kennels, washing food bowls, etc.)
I even once had to break up a very vicious dog fight, but as scary as it was, it wasn’t anything I couldn’t handle.
When I was 17, I worked at a different dog daycare right in my hometown of Weehawken. There I did pretty much the same things I did at my first job, however I felt the management was friendlier and more organized. Either way, it always put a smile on my face when I would come in and see all my furry friends!
I’m a proud owner of an almost 11-year-old mixed breed rescue named Jackson, and I love him to pieces. I graduated high school in 2020 and am currently not attending school anywhere, so I have all the time to spend with your fur baby!!! :)
