Hi, I'm Marissa. I just moved to New Jersey with my husband and our dog so my husband can be close to NYC for theater auditions. I am looking for a nearby jobs in pet care and childcare so I can continue doing something I love close to home, while my husband has a varying schedule.

As only child, pets were my best friends. Growing up in the country of northern California, I had dogs, cats, horses and sheep. I can also care for most livestock and poultry as well. I've cared for birds, fish and exotic pets as well (ie: Sugargliders). I volunteered throughout my childhood with a wildlife rescue and helped care for animals such as birds, squirrels, and deer. I was an active member in FFA and 4H in high school. In high school and college I volunteer as an instructor for therapeutic horseback riding programs for people with physical and intellectual disabilities. For this I worked with the students and handled the horses. Currently I have one dog and one horse.

My family has had rescues and purebreds so I am familiar with varying breed characteristics. My husband and I adopted our first dog together in 2019 and she’s moved with us from Colorado to California to New Jersey!

Dog, cat and horse wise: I am savvy with kittens/puppies/foals to seniors and appreciate each stage. I’ve also cared for many pets with special need whether it be dietary, physical or behavioral.

Aside from all that I enjoy; spending time with my husband and dog, hiking on trails with them, playing board/card games, traveling to England to visit my husband’s family, riding horses, and really anything outdoors and/or water activities (major nature lover here)!
