Hi I'm Emily and all my life I've been surrounded by animals. Over the years, we have owned always three dogs at a time, iguanas, water dragons, leopard geckos, hermit crabs, turtles, frogs, fish, and, for a brief period of time, a squirrel. Currently, we own two large tanks of fish, three dogs, a snake, three birds, two leopard geckos, a box turtle, over 10 water turtles, and a pond full of goldfish, koi, and frogs. Over the years, I have helped watch over my neighbor's dog and cats once a year for two weeks when she goes on vacation.

I've been the one in my house to train our three current dogs so that collectively they can sit, stay, lay down, give paw, roll over, stand, and sit up on their hind legs. I am also in the process of teaching them to not be afraid of the basement. I am the one to bathe the dogs and will walk them when my mom is unable to.

I love the job of taking care of animals because they are often playful, comforting, and keep you on your toes. There is always something new to learn from them and how to care for them. Animals aren't just some unresponsive creature; rather, they're a living being you can bond with, interact with, and who understand more than we know.
