I am a Professional Nanny and I also Pet sit. I have been a nanny for 9 years, and a fur baby mother for 20 years. All of my nanny clients have pets, especially dogs. It seems that they get the dog, then the baby two years later! It's true! It seems logical to me. If we can take care of a puppy or kitten, why not a human baby? Pet care is part of my daily job description. I feed, fill water bowls, let the dogs out, love, play and comfort their pets while caring for their babies and toddlers. All my families, except two, have had pets over the past 9 years. If they have no family in town and they go on vacation, I'll come and pet sit on weekends or come on my way to work to feed, and then return at lunch or at 6 p.m. when I get off my day job. I have cared for tiny terriers all the way up to two 80 lb. Rottweiler's, and labs, who are very sweet and want to climb in my lap daily. I had one senior dog, "Jack", wait at the window every morning for me and knew my car and was my greeter every day. For the past 20 years, I have had several cats; Persians, Himalayans, and now just one 8 lb. 2 year old domestic family kitty. I name all our pets, human names! I have a past medical background so I can give meds, take pet to the vet, groomer, clean up messes, water plants, collect mail daily, take out trash, and run the dishwasher, keep the house tidy. I can sleep over on the weekends or weekdays if you are out of town and need me there. I have a day job, 9-5 as a infant nanny, but I am single and make my own hours. I have a current background check and nanny references. I have lots of stories of past nanny families pets and remember them all. I also hired a pet sitter years ago when we went to Colorado on vacation when he was a kitten, so I know how it feels and what your needs are.
