Hi! My name is Mara Taormina. I am 28-years-old and currently an almost full-time nanny for an amazing family with two kiddos aged 8 & 5, 4 days a week 8-5pm. I am now looking for more work on my open day Wednesday & weekend days or evenings - even longer or set hours weekly. I love to do occasional babysitting & I absolutely love dog-sitting on weekends since I don't have a set schedule those days, please feel free to contact me regarding such services!

I had tons of animals growing up including a pet corn snake for almost 17 years, large dogs (2 German Shepherds and a Rottweiler), cats (my cat even had kittens at one point as a child - goodness!), fish, hamsters, and even an iguana at one point in my childhood. I absolutely love animals and currently dog sit for family friends. I decided since I have used SitterCity for nanny and babysitting jobs for years, I might as well provide my experience with animals to see if I can provide jobs in my spare time with animals as well. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from CUNY Lehman College in Bronx, NY. I lived in New York City for three years age 21-24. I earned my college degree & balanced my schedule as a nanny for 2 amazing families, as well as babysat regularly for many families in NYC. I left a job as a vocational direct care worker in 2020 teaching job skills to adults with autism and other related challenges in Northville, MI before my current nanny position. I have done case management positions from rehousing chronically homeless individuals in Detroit to working at a Senior Center in the South Bronx. I am infant/child/adult CPR certified as well as trained in First Aid/AED I have tutored kids, done homework help and assisted children with online learning. I've been babysitting since I was around 14-years-old with over 14 years of experience.
