Hi!
My name is Maria and I am 32 years old. I am a wildlife ecologist and animal lover. I've had dogs all my life and they have always been part of our family. My family has a 9 year old German Sheppard named Lucas . He lives with my mother, but I raised him until I moved out from home a couple of years ago. I miss him terribly! but I visit him during the weekends, and my husband and I stay with him when my mother has to travel for work (which is very often, so I love it). We recently moved to an apartment in Bethesda and can't have any pets for the moment, so I thought about doing some dog-sitting to fill that space in my life :).

I love all animals, that is why I decided to focus my career in Wildlife Management. I am very fortunate to say that working with kids and wildlife has been a joy in my career as well. As an education program assistant at the Smithsonian, I develop educational materials/games about migratory bird conservation for schools in Washington DC and its partner classes in Latin America.

Most of my experience comes from taking care of the pets that Ive had during my life, but I have also sitted for friend's cats and dogs. I love playing with them, walking them, taking them to the dog park.

The only exception for overnight care is for cats. Two years ago, my husband and I adopted a cat from a shelter and after 6 months I found out I was allergic. It was very unfortunate since I love cats and grew up with cats as well, but luckily she stayed with family and I can still ser her. ButI have no problem with check-ins and visits to feed them, change their litter, etc! :)
