My duties were greeting/welcoming potential cat adopters, helping the head volunteer with the adoption process, materials, and animals available for adoption, exercising and socializing cats through play, handling and cat enrichment (feeding/watering cats, changing their bedding, washing litter boxes), spot cleaning cat premises if necessary (litter box scooping, cage cleaning, food and water bowl washing, combing cats for possible flea dirt), providing relief from emotional stress through approved animal enrichment activities (toys, walking cats through the store, petting them), and recording observed cat behaviors and reactions after each interaction. I cleaned the adoption room efficiently to help the volunteer area create a clean, welcoming space for potential adopters. I helped cat room guests with any questions and concerns they might have concerning their potential cat’s background, issues, and getting back to them on any additional concerns.
