Ever since I can remember I have been an avid animal lover. My neighbor had 6 dogs, all with different personalities and very different temperaments which I always respected and spent as much time with them as I could. This started quite the debate in my family as I was the only one to ever ask for a pet. Whenever we visited Mexico, while all my cousins played I always found myself drawn to the farm our family has with chickens, goats, horses, and cows. With all the dogs that they had on the farm and in town they were always drawn to me as I was to them. Eventually, my parents gave in and allowed to to get a dog which I trained and cared for, for 11 years. In those years I learned so much about dogs with the help of my neighbor and her 6 pets. Now we focus on caring for the feral street cats which she has created a safe haven for them on her porch.
