After making it clear to Robin that I had to hire someone to go through extensive background checks to work within the foster program, Robin just suddenly took another job, leaving me in an impossible situation where there is not enough time for me to hire and run background checks on another person. As a result of her behavior, I have to quit my job. This is exactly what she did to another family and I am furious that I allowed myself to give her a second chance. Do not trust what she says. She expresses enthusiasm but she will not nanny for you in the end. At least this time she did not cancel the day before it began like she did with the other family.
Robin was hired to work as a part-time nanny. She did excellent during the interview process and happily accepted the position when it was offered to her. She was very involved and responsive during the hiring process including completing the background check, following up
In results, and being involved in the creation of the family-nanny agreement. She genuinely seemed excited to begin work. Fast forward a few days (2 days to the start date) when she completely stopped responding to messages, calls, and ignored every attempt of contact. This has left us in a complete scramble to find a nanny to fill the position last minute. We are all adults and understand that things and needs change- we just wish that rather than ignoring multiple attempts to contact her, she would have communicated that with us. Her approach has been unprofessional and frankly very immature. Save yourself the time of interviewing her as she has proven to be unreliable and lacks communication.
