Cats, cats, and more cats have entered my life as I have helped with an urban farm and lived in a neighborhood with a very large feral population. As they say, this care work found me. I am a community carer, currently taking care of roughly 6 (it varies a little!) cats in addition to the two we care for in our home. Spending so much time with cats who live indoors, outdoors, and some combination of both, has helped me understand a great deal about cat psychology, health, and domesticity. I have also worked with MANY kittens born on our farm, socializing, feeding, and organizing adoptions or safe spaces for them to stay while we find a home. This means I am comfortable with the many personalities of cats, have a good sense of when a cat is doing and feeling well, and that one must be diligent and firm to develop and enhance a good relationship of trust and good health! I am a responsible carer that can come check in (always with a mind to give you an update or photos, should you want them!) or stay for longer to play, snuggle, or keep a respectful but comforting distance (I know that our cats have a lot of social needs, even though they are shy).
