Most recently I helped my wife care for her elder dog, including taking him for walks at his pace. He had a lot of vision and balance issues, so I had to be careful with steps and uneven terrain, taking it slowly as he liked to take his time smelling all the smells he could. He also had a special diet, that I helped ensure he had enough food and water.
I have done some dog walking on Rover.com, but only with one client, who said was very satisfied with my work, and her dog was well cared for.
I have dog sat for friends, even staying overnight at the owners' homes, and all the owner's were pleased with how happy their dogs seemed upon their return.
Growing up, my family helped raise six separate Future Leader Dogs for the blind, which included teaching puppies potty training, proper walking, and teaching them an eating schedule, as they grew into an adult dog at one year old.
