Hi Pet Owners,

I recently moved back to Florida after living in Virginia for twelve years. Before that, I’d been living in Florida for 25 years.

I've had three years experience taking care of mostly cats and dogs since joining Sittercity. I took care of a group of four cats for usually one week every six weeks or so when their owner went out of town. There was one time where I took care of her cats for three weeks when she traveled to Germany. She left a review mentioning three cats. This was one time when she took one of the cats with her on her trip. She's taken the cat with her on another trip or two, but for the majority of the times I've taken care of them, all four have been there.

I covered feeding, meds and taking care of their litter box. I also walked an owner's two dogs two to three times a week, weather permitting. I gave another dog a mid-day walk a few times a month depending on the owner's work schedule. I also took care of a dog and rabbit, when the owners left on weekend trips. I make sure to pick up after any dogs I walk.

Aside from that, I have over two years experience taking care of my daughter's dog Rosie when I lived in Florida -- pretty much took over when my daughter got too busy to care for it. I handled the responsibilities of care (bathing, vet visits) and feeding, taking her on walks around the neighborhood, but also enjoyed taking her in the car to the park for much longer walks. My daughter took over care when I moved.

I had a friend in the area with a Sheltie that I would walk when she traveled out of town. Don't have a dog of my own right now, but would enjoy visiting someone else's to care for them when you can't be there. I like the idea of caring for the pet in its familiar surroundings to minimize the change from its normal routine.
