I have had many "pets" in my lifetime - dogs, cats, hamsters, snakes and birds. I believe, when we have a pet, they should be cared for like we would care for our children. Dogs require a little more discipline and they seems to like having a "leader". I enjoy playing and spending time with dogs and cats, especially when their parents are away, as they need a little more diversion. I always felt it was good to leave the radio or TV on so they could hear or watch something while alone.
