I have worked for "Pup Strutters" a local pet sitting/walking business along with my mother. She did it on a full time basis and I was only a part time employee. After a while my mom was able to establish enough of her own clients that needed her on a regular basis so she was able to work for herself. Her regular clients kept her busy so she had a full schedule. If she was ever over booked she would ask me to help her out and take a job or two here and there.
I always required a meet and greet before the first initial home visit or walk etc. where the owner could introduce me to their pet and be able to personally show me what their pet is used to and comfortable with when performing their daily routines. This is very important for pets to feel comfortable with someone new in their home, and understand that they are trusted and not a threat.
