Hi! My name is Amy and I am here for you and your furry friends. Growing up in Florida, I was always surrounded by a variety of creatures - from barn animals to exotic reptiles to house pets of all sorts! I came to view them not only as friends but as part of the family.
I volunteered in Peace Corps for 3 years in Zambia and returned in 2018, and began work in the field of Environmental Science. During my service, I had 2 cats of my own: Patches and Franklin. They were energetic and lovable but were village cats and I felt terrible thinking to take them away from their wild home and passed their care on to the next volunteer. I grew up taking care of our family's Dachshund and began walking him along with the neighbors' dogs at age 10. I had my own dog in Zambia as well - Banjo. He was a rambunctious but loyal village mutt that I would have loved to take back to the United States with me after my service. Unfortunately, he got bit by a snake and passed away. Upon returning to the States I've filled that need to care and love dogs through taking care of other's while they are away.
My availability is very open and flexible, and my excellent organizational skills help prioritize my schedule in a way that suits everyone involved. I have experience in administering medicine, bathing and light grooming, transportation, exercise of all sorts, and (most importantly) providing company with care and affection.
