I have had dogs and cats my whole life and have loved every one of them. They are always part of the family and everyone who knows me would tell you that they would love to come back in another life as my pet. I treat them as well as my kids (they might say "better"). I currently have a 4 yr old shih tzu (who is the love of my life) and a 7 year old cat. I have friends with 2 shih tzu's who leave them with me whenever they travel. I've kept them for 3 weeks at a time and it works out great.
