For the past 50+ years, I have been an avid pet enthusiast, and am competent in caring for a wide variety of animals. When I was a young college student, my goal was to become a veterinarian, but organic chemistry proved to be beyond my grasp. So I became an English major instead, graduated with honors, and joined the business world - choosing to enjoy animals as a hobby rather than a profession.

Pets that I have owned include dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, and birds. I enjoyed showing a few of my dogs in both breed conformation and obedience trials, and had the privilege of registering one of my dogs as a certified Therapy Dog. I was also a volunteer assistant for dog obedience classes in my town’s recreation department.

Besides the pets that I previously mentioned, I have also owned and cared for goats, ducks, rats, hamsters, mice, gerbils, hermit crabs, turtles, salamanders, anoles, chameleons, turtles, fish, hedgehogs, and even a tarantula.

Historically, I am the person that friends and family contact to care for their pets when they travel or go on vacation. I am also the one they contact with questions of animal care or when they find an orphaned or injured animal in need of assistance (I am experienced in rehabbing a variety of birds squirrels, and rabbits).

After 20 years of working with elementary school children, I have retired and find myself with the time and freedom to extend my pet care services beyond the sphere of friends and family.
