I worked in a "hands on" training pet store in Chicago. I specialized in bird care. I have hand weaned Scarlet Macaws, Hans Macaws and Goffin Cockatoos. I have worked with a variety of birds; finches, canaries, macaws, cockatoos, lories, budgies, parrots, doves and cockatiels. I have clipped wings, nails, cleaned cages, feed, administered medication, socialized and even taught birds with the capabilities to vocalize to talk.
I have own and cared for ferrets. I also have experience with guinea pigs, rats, hamsters, hedge hogs, snakes, bearded dragons and fish. On a personal level, I have always lived in a household with a cat. I am comfortable and well versed in their ways.
I have provided a number of families with pet care that I also worked for as a nanny. Mostly these jobs were dog and cat related. I walked, groomed, feed, administered medication, set up and accompanied pet to vet appointments.
