My name is Renae. I grew up with dogs. All of my teenage years and a little beyond which required me making sure to feed the dog and of course bringing her outside for a walk. I also have family members and friends with animals, dogs and cats and at one point even a little pet pig. I've also babysat throughout and in same cases this has included the family pet. I can understand the need to sometimes find someone you can trust to come by your home and walk your dog or feed them as well. This is a big reason I never had a pet later on in my own home because at the time my husband & I understood the importance of making sure we could be with whichever type of pet we chose more than they were alone. The distance was too far from our jobs & we didn't really have anyone around at the time we could ask. The animal home alone more hours than home with us was not what we wanted for them. It wouldn't be fair to the animal & after all they are also a big part of your family. People have all kinds of pets & they deserve to be taken care of.
