Wendy was good with our son but she absolutely failed to follow through with the schedule that she agreed to. When I met Wendy for the interview I made it very clear that I’m a contractor and when I book a job for my business my clients rely on me so I have to follow through with my commitments and I was specifically hiring her so that I could work. Wendy agreed on a four day training period the last week of July then she would be available for the first two weeks of Aug. The training period went fine but then she informed me that she wouldn’t be available the following Tue or Wed - so of course I wouldn’t be able to schedule any jobs that week. Then she showed up on Monday and informed my wife that she wouldn’t be available the following week either. It appears that Wendy’s game plan was to keep her options open but make a few dollars in the process. As a contractor this would be the equivalent of me taking someones deposit for a job, starting the job then leaving them hanging in the middle of the job because I had a potentially better opportunity. As a licensed contractor there would be very serious legal repercussions if I were to do that to someone and it’s extremely frustrating that Wendy didn’t have any consideration for the situation that she put me in. I also have employees for my business and the reason why I hire someone is to help me not to complicate things for me, or for me to pay them then accommodate their schedule.
